NHS Direct is already available by phone, on the web and on Sky Digital. Now, you can also get the best bits of NHS Direct straight to your Freeview box.

The new service is absolutely free for anyone who has Freeview in their home. All you have to do is pick up the remote and go to Channel 108. Its as simple as that!

The NHS Direct Interactive service on Freeview will provide you with the latest news on current health issues, answers to common health questions and feature articles about long-term health conditions.

Well also make sure that you have good, sound advice on looking after yourself, including topics such as eating well, exercising and giving up smoking. In addition, youll be able to find general information about NHS services.

Accessing the service

To access the service on Freeview, simply go to channel 108. If you cant access channel 108, you may need to retune or rescan your digital box or television so it sees the new channel. For more information about retuning, see the Freeview website.

To access the service on Sky Digital, press the INTERACTIVE button on the remote control, and scroll down the menu to NHS Direct Interactive and press the SELECT button.

NHS Direct provides health information and advice 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The new Freeview service will provide 150 pages packed with health information and reach 6.4 million households.
