calorie burning activity that’s fun and safe to do at home
If you work from home or seems to have too much time at home after work, you may start to worry that you won’t be getting enough exercise. There are still plenty of normal jobs you can do around the house and still count them as a calorie burning activity.Keep in mind, we’re not talking about exercising in the house, per se. Rather, we’re talking about normal chores that will probably need to be done anyway - chores that can also double as calorie-burning exercises. Here are just a few ideas.
One excellent way to burn calories is through mowing your lawn (push mower, please, not a riding mower). Similarly, tending to a garden, pulling weeds, and so forth, will all help you ‘exercise’, while allowing you to enjoy the sunny weather!
If it’s too rainy outside for cutting the grass, then let’s go back inside and take a look at your closets and drawers. Spend a day organizing these. Simply place all the clothes you never wear in boxes and bags and then carry them to the Salvation Army or some other place that needs them. In this case you’re killing, not two birds with one stone, but three: You’re helping the needy, getting rid of some of the clutter in your home, and getting a little exercise in the process.
In fact, while you’re decluttering, consider organizing a large rummage sale. Again, get a lot of boxes and bags and go through your home, finding those things that you once thought were necessary, but now never use. Price everything, and then post signs around town. This is a way to make a few extra dollars as you lose a few extra pounds.
Kids can help you burn a few extra calories - as any busy mother knows! How about one sunny day taking them to the park or having a picnic with them. Help them build a fort or jump on the swing with them. Jump rope with them, or play kickball. There are any number of ways to have fun at the park that will help you burn calories.
Don’t have kids? Get a dog! Walking the family pet to the park is a great way of burning calories without even realizing you’re doing it. Or play fetch with him. Or just run and have him chase you. Your dog will love you for it.
Redecorating can be a great calorie burning activity. All the lifting and stretching is a great way to increase your exercise level and burn more calories. Make sure if youre lifting that you are doing it right, you dont want to end up in bed with a bad back! So get out the paint pots and the rollers and give your whole house a makeover. Not only will you be taking part in a great calorie burning activity but your house will be a fresh and inviting place to relax in afterwards.
Anything that you do normally around the house can be turned into a calorie burning activity; just remember to put a little more effort in the things you do and get your heart pumping. When your heart is pumping fast and hard you know you are getting a good workout!
